Charleston’s offerings include rooftop bars, live music cocktail lounges, oyster bars and more. And while not all of these fine establishments offer happy hours, a lot of them do! So let’s have it!
What is Happy Hour in Charleston?
Like most places, happy hour can mean a lot of things in Charleston whether it’s $1.50 oysters, $3 whiskeys or an entire bar being half off! Most of this list is where to find discounted alcohol because Charleston is such a drinking town and alcohol has higher profit margins than food. However, we will try our best to include as many food happy hours as possible! You will also notice that most of the happy hours on this list are Monday – Friday. We found a couple of Sunday deals in there but only one Saturday happy hour in all of Charleston. Luckily this one covers food and drink, so keep reading to find your new Saturday hangout spot!
Best Charleston Happy Hours
1. Uptown Social
Uptown Social is always a fun time and even better when their entire bar is half-off from 4 pm – 8 pm on Monday through Friday. Unfortunately, it’s a little pricey to start off with so you’re not going to find the town’s cheapest beer, even when it is half-off.
2. The Rarebit
Not only does the eatery have great food, they also have $5 moscow mules Tuesday through Friday. Be careful though, these things are strong!
3. Pink Cactus
Staying with the $5 train, you’ll find $5 tequila shots and tacos Monday through Saturday from 3 pm – 6 pm at Pink Cactus. They also serve $6 margaritas and palomas during this time period and even $3 tecates. This is currently our favorite happy hour in Charleston considering it is active on Saturdays!
4. The Alley
Who doesn’t love specials when bowling? The Alley has $3 domestic beer and house wine on weekdays from 4 -7. They’ve also got $12 buckets of domestic on Mondays, Sundays and Wednesdays. $4 burgers on Thursdays, yes you read that right! Tons of $5 shots on Mondays. Oh and did we mention free arcade games on Thursdays? Yep, you’re pretty much guaranteed to run into a special at The Alley as long as it’s not Friday or Saturday!
5. Indaco
This place is one of the best italian restaurants in all of Charleston and offers a fun happy hour at their bar. $6 house wines and $4 for their mystery beer, which changes every time you go. They love to keep us guessing!
6. Pier 41
$1 oysters and $1 glasses of champagne, do we have to say anything else? This place also has constantly changing daily specials including $5 martinis. If only it was on King Street! But trust us, these deals are worth the Uber into Mt. Pleasant. Or better yet, call us for a party bus rental in Charleston!
7. The Darling
This is probably the nicest restaurant on our list and a lot of people would be surprised they even have a happy hour, especially one this good! $1.50 oysters are an impeccable deal considering the ambience and location!
Charleston Transportation Happy Hour
